A Deux

Creating approachable copy for a unique ensemble.


The client:

A Deux is a professional flute and cello duo providing live music for weddings, events and hospitality across the East Midlands.

Alison and John are experienced musicians who have regularly performed together as teachers and in orchestras in the midlands. They formed A Deux as an alternative to the standard string quartet or pianist often used for weddings – instead creating a flexible, unique duo to offer something different.

The brief:

A brochure website was requested to showcase A Deux’s services and repertoire, as well as providing potential customers with a quick and easy way to get in touch.

As the ensemble breaks away from the traditional groups used for weddings and events, the website also needed to highlight the benefits and value of a flute and cello duo and show the flexibility and quality sound A Deux offers.


The project:

The project kick-off meeting helped to articulate the brand and customer experience of A Deux. Based on this and initial competitor research, a website outline was created. This mapped out content to make it easy for potential clients to find all the information they needed.

Copy was then created for each section of the website and laid out with images and coloured blocks breaking it into easy-to-read sections.

The copy was written to be friendly and approachable, reflecting the warm and personalised service that A Deux provide.

The result:

The website will act as a hub for A Deux’s marketing – enabling potential customers to browse the repertoire and packages available. The flexible, short sections mean the copy can be easily added to and edited over time to reflect any changes in services and repertoire. The copy highlights the benefits and details of different aspects of A Deux’s services and customer experience, and can be used as the basis for social media copy.
